Dear all, Thank you for your ongoing support and collaboration with HKUST and the IAS. I am very pleased to announce the launch of a new IAS Junior Fellow program intended to support the most talented young scholars independent of discipline for a fixed term of 3 years. IAS Junior Fellows will be fully supported by the IAS to pursue their research and scholarship unfettered by other responsibilities and distractions. The program is designed with an aim to foster research and creative activity at HKUST/IAS at the highest level across a range of disciplines. 3-year Junior Fellowships allow young scholars to devote their full attention to research in support of their personal growth and creative goals. We are seeking nominations of the brightest young researchers internationally. Candidates should be near the beginning of their career (within 5 years of having received a PhD or equivalent degree) and show exceptional promise. We aspire to host Junior Fellows who are of highest caliber in their cohort with clear potential for further significant accomplishments and leadership in their scholarly endeavors. Junior Fellows will be supported with a competitive stipend, in addition to a generous fund at their disposal for their travel and research. The IAS will strive to provide the best support and the most favorable environment for Junior Fellows to conduct their research. Details can be found on this webpage: http://ias.ust.hk/juniorfellows/ . I am grateful for your assistance in identifying outstanding candidates, and welcome nominations from you and your colleagues. I would also greatly appreciate you sharing this announcement with friends and colleagues, and any other help in getting the word out you may be able to provide. Thank you very much and I wish you a successful year in research! Yours sincerely, Andrew G Cohen Director and Lam Woo Foundation Professor HKUST Jockey Club Institute for Advanced Study The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
